Hustle dancing became popular in the 1970’s and refers to partner dancing that was done in the many nightclubs that exploded on the scene in New York City. Originally done to disco music, Hustle can be danced to most pop songs of today and is still danced in many nightclubs around the world. It has some features in common with Mambo, Salsa and Swing dance. It is also referred to as the “New York Hustle" or "The Latin Hustle".
